Description

So was talking about this concept with somebody not to long ago and thought it was an interesting idea to see what these guys would look like if they got Alolan forms. I feel like there's no chance of that happening but it's still a fun what if game to play. So I doodled up some ideas of what the 9 of them might get if they were given a new form (using the 9 types that are left). I didn't spend to much time on em, mostly just doodles with some raw coloring. Was mostly focused on the concept more so than anything else with these. Below is an explanation

Eevee, for Eevee I wanted to keep the normal look of it, it doesn't have any elemental abilities really. Well Pokemon has all prehistoric Pokemon be rock type, Aerodactyl, Tyrantrum, Armaldo, etc. So why not turn Eevee into a little Sabre Tooth Tiger and call it rock type? Plus it fit the evolution theme Eevee has with Eevee being a ancient creature that turns into a more modern one. Plus, he's pretty cute like that, so I think it works all around myself.

Vaporeon, Vaporeon was obvious for me, it already kind of looks like a Sea Dragon, so just add a few bits and bam, Dragon type. If he looks a little familiar, that's because this design was based on the same myth that Magikarp and Gyarados were based on. That being that Karp go on a long journey and the ones that survive will reach a waterfall where they have one last challenge, if they succeed, they become a Dragon. So Vaporeon was a fish that became a Dragon, seems to fit to me so why not?

Jolteon, Jolteon was the hardest one for me, since most of these guys had an obvious one I felt could suit the role or something that just kind of worked, Jolteon really kind of didn't. Well I eventually gave it bug because one of Jolteon's most well known for attacks is Signal Beam, some people (myself included) were even upset that there was no way to get Jolteon that move in X and Y. Plus flying insects are pretty fast, so I think it works anyway. Wanted Jolteon to sort of look like a hornet, quick, deadly insect.

Flareon, this one was pretty obvious for me as far as which type to give to Flareon, since Flareon is a physical attacker and could desperately use some help in that category. Well how about giving it STAB with one of the best physical moves in the game, Earthquake (likely get access to Stone edge too)? As for designing it, well Flareon already sort of has a headdress anyway, so I went with that and made Flareon an Egyptian Pharaoh. Think it fits and looks pretty good myself.

Espeon, Espeon was another one of the ones that seemed pretty straight forward to me. Make it a ghost type. Espeon fits the bill pretty well in general, being a fast special attacker with respectable special bulk, so I think it works. As far as design goes, mostly just wanted to give it an Erie sort of look, like with the floating beads, no neck, ghostly tail, stuff like that.

Umbreon, Well what is the most common attack Umbreon knows? That be Toxic, so why not go with poison type? I wanted to utilize the rings too, so to do that, I made them have a radioactive green glow instead of the normal yellow one. Which I think looks pretty good. Not to much else to say, Umbreon's radioactive now.

Leafeon, Leafeon worked with a couple different ones, Flying, bug, Poison, etc, so I pretty much just picked the one I liked the best. Well I like this Green Parrot concept the best myself, with the leaves turning into feathers and it becoming flying type. There's also some good flying type moves like Brave Bird Leafeon might like to have and in the anime, Leafeon did sprout some wings once, somehow, so kind of works.

Glaceon, I went with Steel type here, feel like it makes the most since for an Ice type to become. An even harder substance. I like Transformers, so initial thought was to make a robot out of Glaceon. Think it looks pretty cool myself. Not to much else to say.

Sylveon, So with Sylveon, most people think of it as being innocent and cutesy. Well in the actual game, this thing is complete nightmare, so wanted to have something that played into that and works with the ribbons. Well a black belt fighting type looks pretty good I think. Give her Focus blast and she's got all she needs.

So that's them, what you guys think? Personally I feel this isn't going to happen, they would have to devote 9 of this new mechanic to just Eevee (8 if Eevee itself doesn't get one) so I sincerely doubt they'll be getting one myself. Still cool to think about it though.

*Also I haven't said anything about the Alolan forms yet, I like the concept a lot, think it's pretty creative myself. Personally I hope it doesn't overshadow adding new Pokemon to the games though like the Mega forms did in gen 6. I hope this is just a cool new thing and doesn't take the place of introducing new ones. We'll see I guess.*

**Also if you're curious why I called these Regional Eevees instead of Alolan Eevees, it's because I expect this to become a regular thing, like when the Gen 4 remake comes out, we'll get some Sinnoh _______ (which if they do, might allow for Eevee and friends to get one) and such, so just going to group these guys together as Regional Pokemon apposed to strictly Alolan forms. We'll see if that turns out to be the case.**

***I do have an idea for a Poison type Leafeon and a Steel type Sylveon I might end up showing off, because I do think they're pretty cool too. Let me know if you would like to see them too or not***

*EDIT* So apparently you can't zoom in on this, so hopefully that layout will show more details then. You can hit download if you want to see the full size of this.

Is this also based on the rock cycle?
