Description

So, almost made it, I think I am back on track now though so that's good :D. As a whole I am happy how this one came out, there's a few things here and there that aren't to my liking but I don't think they're that big a deal. If your curious further why Red would bring Muk into this fight, he'll talk about it in detail in his journal this time around. Hope you enjoy and the big guys are coming out next time.

Red's Journal: Preparing for Mewtwo
After I found out for sure where Mewtwo was I announced I would take Mewtwo on myself. Most people supported me, saying most people wouldn't be willing to do that, especially after what happened to Blue, but the few that didn't were the closest to me. My mother, Professor oak, and Leaf all hated the idea and begged me not to challenge the monster. They said that he would probably kill me if gotten the chance, my mentor, mother, and childhood friend were all against it. I never got an opinion out of Blue, he just went quiet... so I assume he didn't want me to go either.
To be honest though... I don't think I'm risking all that much because... well... I don't think Mewtwo is evil. Most people do but from what I read about him and how he was treated... I don't believe he is evil. I think he has a warped psyche on things. I think he has been told so many times he was just a means to an end and wasn't worth anything that he snapped. I believe he was just as kind and joyful as Mew was, but was hated on, neglected, and treated like a tool rather than a sentient being so many times it changed him. I really started to think this when I read about Amber, I'll talk more about that latter. I intend to prove it in Cerulean Cave.
I had no idea how powerful Mewtwo really was, heck, I didn't even know what it looked like, there were some statues in there but I am not sure if they were Mew's or Mewtwo's. The journals said it had vicious tendencies and was to powerful to control. Apparently it was responsible for the Pokemon Mansion's destruction. So I knew it was immensely powerful but there was one thing I got Blue to admit, it was fast. I don't think he really realized he told me this, but when I asked him about it, I remember him saying he brought Alakazam in there to try to match Mewtwo's psychic powers and apparently Mewtwo did circles around Alakazam, not only did it easily avoid all of Alakazam's attacks but it over powered it with little to no resistance in return.
I made an assumption, Mewtwo was similar to Alakazam then, incredibly high speed and sp.attack with low defense, HP, and attack, I guess since he was stronger they'd be higher too but not by that much. So I began to build my team around Pokemon I felt could best overwhelm Alakazam. I brought my two most loyal team members that helped me become Champion in the first place. Mostly because I trusted them and I knew they would perform well, plus they beat Blue's Alakazam too. During my test battles with Alakazam, I found an unforgiving physical assault was the way to go, as that crushed Alakazam with ease. So I was sure to bring the most powerful physical attackers I could find who also had good special bulk to take the special attacks coming back at them, I brought along Tyranitar and Gyarados, as both not only hit like freight trains, but they also took special damage well. Aerodactyl and Jolteon joined me too due to their speed. They were both some of the fastest Pokemon I had ever seen and unleashed a monstrous assault of their own too, both being as fast or faster than Alakazam. Jolteon I made sure to give Signal beam just in case. Jolteon also helped with my fear of bringing in so many flying types, though Blue said Cerulean cave had a lot of ground types in it, so I didn't worry to much about that. I decided against the legendary birds for similar reasons. As for Muk, well...
I was initially thinking of bringing my own Alakazam but I decided against it ultimately for two reasons. One, Blues failed, and I didn't think mine would do much better, and two I found a shadow ball from another Alakazam nearly destroyed it every time, so if Mewtwo was stronger than Alakazam, he probably could do the same thing. I thought maybe that was how Mewtwo defeated Blue's Alakazam so easily. My next thought was a Gengar due to high speed and sp.attack, but Gengar is weak to psychic and Mewtwo was apparently faster than Alakazam, so he probably be able to easily defeat Gengar too.
Muk had two things going for it, one, mine was a high sp.def one and it tanked a hit from Alakazam very well and its gunk shot was usually a OHKO. That alone was pretty interesting but the other thing was Alakazam had a lot of restoration moves, stat increasing moves, stuff like that. Well Muk was very reliable at disabling those things. Most people with an Alakazam battling me would usually underestimate it and go for restoration moves anyway, making it very easy to get rid of those for the latter part of the fight and even if it did go on the offensive, Muk would almost always succeed at disabling psychic, which greatly weakened Alakazam. I felt it was a risky move but if I sent Muk out at the right moment, Mewtwo might go for recover or something like that instead of attacking, and that would take that move away for a while, which could help a lot in capturing it.
That was my reasoning and I felt confident in their strength to challenge what could be the most powerful Pokemon to ever live.
